This
is for those who attended the Spiritual Certainty talk at ACIM
Gather on 2-20-07. It's an example of "Holy Spirit's logic" as
applied to some beliefs about the body:
I.
Statement of Being (Absolute Truth):
Truth is
that which is so. That which is not Truth, is not so. Therefore,
Truth is all there is. The Awareness that is right now seeing Truth to be
All, must be itself the Truth that it's seeing, because if it were something
else other than Truth, it would have to be not Truth and hence wouldn't exist.
So, Awareness, or Mind, is the Truth that is all there is. Now, that which
is all there is, is therefore entire. That which is entire is therefore
total. That which is total is therefore complete. That which is
complete is therefore whole. That which is whole is therefore one.
That which is one is harmonious and Loving, for oneness is both the nature of
harmony and the "action" of Love. That which is harmonious and Loving is
perfect. That which is perfect is absolute. That which is absolute
is infinite. And that which is infinite is everpresent and eternal.
So, Truth is all, entire, total, complete, whole, one, harmonious, Loving,
perfect, absolute, infinite, everpresent, eternal Awareness or Mind being all
there is. All of which is what God is, and why God is all there is besides
which there can be absolutely nothing else.
II. Sense
Testimony (beliefs about body):
1. Body
is material and physical
2. Body
is limited and local
3. Body
can be ill or malfunction
4. Body
can be injured or wounded
5. Body
is a vehicle for interaction with environment
III.
(revealing the Truth the beliefs were a lie about):
-
Awareness, Mind, God, is the Truth that is all there is. Since there's
nothing physical or material about Awareness, and since Awareness is the Truth
that is all there is, then it's absolutely impossible for physicality or
materiality to exist in any way, shape or form anywhere at all. Since
materiality is contrary to Awareness, and Awareness is Truth, materiality is
therefore contrary to Truth, which means that it's not Truth, which means that
it's not so, which means, again, that it absolutely can't exist. So
whatever appears to be physical or material can only be thought or idea in
Awareness. Consequently, all that the body can be is entirely thought or
idea in Awareness.
- Since
Truth, God, Mind is infinite and everpresent, that which is limited and local
is therefore contrary to Truth, making it not Truth, not so, and hence
non-existent. Hence limitation and location are illusory lies about the
infinity and everpresence of Truth. And since Truth is all there is and
all there can be, neither body or anything else can be limited and local.
Everything, including body, has to be infinite and everpresent. Because
God is all there is, God is therefore all there possibly can be to body.
So the belief that body is limited and local is actually a belief that God can
be limited and local, which is nonsense. Since God, then, is infinite
and everpresent, and since God is all there is to body, then body therefore is
infinite and everpresent.
-
Because God is all there possibly can be, God is all there possibly can be to
the body. So the belief that body can be ill or malfunction is actually
a belief that God can be ill or malfunction, which is absolutely preposterous.
So, since God is all there can be to body, body, thus consisting of nothing
else but God, can only function as perfectly as God.
- Since
Truth is absolutely whole and complete, wounds or injuries, being contrary to
wholeness and completeness, are therefore contrary to Truth, and hence are not
Truth, not so and hence non-existent. Since Truth is all there is,
the wholeness and completeness of Truth is therefore also all there is,
besides which, then, there can be nothing else, and hence there can be no
injury or wounds. Because God is all there is, God is all there is to
body. So the belief that body can be wounded or injured is a belief that
God can be wounded or injured, which of course is absurd.
So, since God is all there can be to body, body therefore has to be as whole,
perfect and complete as God.
-
Because God is all there is, God is all there can possible be to body.
So the belief that body is a vehicle for interaction with environment is
actually a belief that God is a vehicle for interaction with environment.
But God cannot be a vehicle for something else because God is always all there
is. God always is all there is to body, environment and interaction, in
and as Mind, which means that God is not the vehicle for, but the actual,
absolute and infinite interaction between, and as, Infinite Mind and all it's
infinite manifestation of perfect, harmonious ideas, including body as idea,
environment as idea and everything else as idea, the perfect interaction of
All being always perfectly whole and one. Body therefore is the perfect,
harmonious, Loving interaction of All being perfectly whole and one in and as
Mind.
IV.
Summary (the combined results of step 3):
All that
the body can be is entirely thought or idea in Awareness, infinite and
everpresent, functioning as perfectly as God, as whole, perfect and complete as
God, the perfect, harmonious, Loving interaction of All being perfectly whole
and one in and as Infinite Mind.
V.
Conclusion (What body really is):
Body is
the everpresent, harmonious and Loving interactive function of Mind, God,
knowing/being it's infinite manifestation of ideas as perfectly whole and One.
Much
Love,
Ben
